We are experts at the Claim process. Adjusters often say “Not Covered” when in fact you are. We get payment for many customers after initial denial. We don’t just remove the tree, we guide you through the claim.
Your insurance adjuster generally won’t be able to get to you quickly and will advise you to get the tree off your house and tarp it before rainwater does further damage. Just take photos first to document the damage.
We are licensed and insured. We have helped with hurricane relief for 30 years and never had a single damage claim filed against us. We are here and ready to help.
Big Tree on or falling towards your house? Our crane can safely lift it away, without causing additional damage.
And here’s the best part, we don’t require payment from you upon completion. We work with your insurance company and will wait for them to pay. Keep your cash available during this hurricane disaster, you might need it for emergency repairs, temporary housing, etc.
Your delicate roof is not a platform for workers dragging branches and dropping or rolling large logs. It is important for a crane to lift off the tree at the same angle from which it fell to minimize damage. Then, it is critical the house be tarped to prevent additional damage from rainwater. Roofing companies are swamped and it is usually many weeks before you can hire a professional contractor.
All insurance companies require you to take steps to minimize additional damage (your contract will specifically say “MITIGATE ADDITIONAL DAMAGE”). This means they are responsible for the damage the hurricane did but if you do nothing and allow rain to pour into the house for days, while waiting for an adjuster, insurance WILL NOT PAY for additional damage caused by the rainwater.
When a tree falls into a house it is covered by insurance 99% of the time. It does not matter if it was your tree, the neighbors tree, or a city tree, it is your insurance that pays the claim. I know this sounds absurd, but it's been the law of the land for ages and there's no point in trying to push a rock uphill. It might have been your neighbors tree, but you and your insurance company are stuck with it.
The only exception is if you have given the property owner from where the tree stood, written notice, via certified mail, and included a certified arborist report specifying the tree hazard. Then the property owner or their insurance must pay the claim.
Many insurance companies strive to pay out as little as possible on claims. Remember the adjuster might act like your friend but works for and is paid by your insurance company. Seldom are they structural engineers knowing what is necessary for repairs to be performed up to code. Their assessment of your damage is not final, it is the very first assessment.
Many adjusters' initial figure is often less than half of what is necessary and actually paid in the end. It is your job to present documentation as to exactly what is required to make your house whole again. Do not trust what the adjuster sees shining his flashlight in the attic checking for damage. Hire a reputable construction firm to give you a written estimate for repairs. Insurance companies cannot ignore detailed bids from professional contractors.
Yes, there are many good insurance companies and adjusters but there are also those who act as though they have final say on your claim. This is absolutely NOT TRUE.
Removing a fallen tree from a house can be a delicate operation. Has the kinetic energy from the falling momentum of the tree been transferred into the house or is the tree still under a stress load?? Relieving that energy/pressure can be precarious. Our crane can lift gently, or stop completely when necessary, relieving that stress load safely without risking life and limb.
Removing a tree manually will shorten the life of your roof. Once installed and exposed to hot summer days, it becomes rigid and brittle and should not be walked on unless absolutely necessary. A tree removal crew sawing, dragging branches and dropping logs will do much long term damage. The damage will not show up immediately though and when it does your insurance company is going to say it’s normal wear and tear and not a claimable item that they will cover. So yes, of course you can get on the roof to remove a few small branches or tiny tree but for anything more substantial than that, the smart thing to do is use a crane to lift it off and avoid fracturing the rigid shingles.
There are endless pictures online of cranes flipping over and cutting a house in half when trying to remove a tree. You don’t want a novice tree climber or an undersized crane. Expertise is critical. Our business is tree removal by crane, it’s what we do everyday. We are highly experienced at removing trees without causing additional house damage or hazards to crew.
30 years operation without a damage claim. And $2 million insurance coverage, just to give you peace of mind.
1. We don't require payment upon completion. We work with your insurance company for payment. Keep your cash available for emergencies and temporary housing.
2. After a roof goes through Summer heat it becomes brittle. Tree crews sawing and stomping around on your roof will shorten your roofs life expectancy, which insurance won't cover when it leaks in a couple of years. Use a crane and preserve your roof!
3. Very Safe: Tree removal without a crane can be extremely dangerous. Lifting with our crane eliminates accidents and structure damage.
4. Two Million insurance including workers comp: 30 years of operation without a single damage claim!
5. Quickly get the tree off your house so it can be covered with a tarp to stop more rainwater from entering, causing damage and mold growth.
6. No damage to your house or landscape: Our crane lifts the tree off at the exact angle which it fell, ensuring no more damage.
We take extensive before and after pictures of the fallen tree and make notes to fully document the damage for your insurance company.
If you don't get paid, we don't get paid!!
We secure the crane to the tree in multiple places to ensure it is lifted off of your house at the exact angle it entered, minimizing damage to the structure.
All insurance companies require you to MITIGATE DAMAGE. Specifically, get the tree removed and a tarp installed to prevent water (rain) damage as soon as possible. FEMA provides free, professional tarp installation.
Our crane experts lift the tree with precision so no additional damage is done to your house or landscape.
Once set on the ground, the tree is moved to the curb for FEMA haul away. Your house can now begin repair and recovery.
Hurri-Crane Tree Removal delicately lifts the tree off the house after a hurricane
Established in 1993, Hurri-Crane Tree Removal began when a neighbor was taking down 6 fir trees to build a garage. The service he hired was about to chop the trees down in firewood pieces. I was aghast at the waste and the neighbor agreed to let me hire a crane to lift the trees out as logs instead. The sale of the logs paid for half of the tree removal expense which struck me as a win-win situation. Why chop down our National Forests when we can build homes with trees that must come down regardless, AND save money in the process. So I bought a crane and here we are. The crane also allows us to do very difficult removals where a tree is growing very close to a house, in an inaccessible back yard, over a septic system or delicate landscape, or too far deteriorated to safely climb and remove. The Safety Factor the crane provides allows us to work day in and day out without bodily risk to our crew or our client's property. Peace of mind is a lovely thing.
Hundreds of Hurricane blown trees lifted off houses for insurance companies has taught me how to ensure that your insurance company pays what is required to make your house whole again. No one in America has craned more trees. Not a single damage claim!
- Dale, Owner of Hurri-Crane Tree Removal
Having a tree fall on your house is not a pleasant experience but Dale eased our minds and made it as simple as possible. He came out to look at the tree within about an hour of calling him on a Friday afternoon, driving from Bellevue to Burien. He and his crew arrived following morning to remove the tree, even cutting the trunk into rounds for firewood. Dale and his entire crew were polite, fast, respectful and clean. They bill the insurance directly and take pictures so it's one less thing you'll have to deal with.
I highly recommend calling Dale for your tree needs. His knowledge and friendly. Crossing my fingers nothing like this ever happens again but of it does, he will be our first phone call.
Dale and his company are well above par when it comes to customer service and going out of their way to assist people with storm damages! This wonderful individual came out of nowhere in a time of need, desperately, and truly delivered on what was promised! What was truly a horrific, near fatal event, was turned into a reasonable repair after they removed the 80 year old tree top from my newly built home after Hurricane Ida! I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome all thanks to Dale and crew!
I had a huge Douglas fir tree that needed to be removed. It was very close to my neighbors house and my garage. I received several bids to remove the tree. Hurri-Crane Tree Removal's bid was reasonably priced. The quality of the work was exceptional. The work was completed in two days with all of the debris from the tree removed. No damage to house or property. They followed thru on everything they said they would do. I will use them again when the need arises.
Though I was fortunate not to have suffered more storm damage, facing the immense yard debris and tree removal from my family home was challenging, emotional and I felt a lot of anxiety. Two hundred plus foot trees had fallen into neighbors' yard causing potential damage. I had three more 100 foot plus trees dangerously split or uprooted.
I'd received contradictory information about procedures and liability. In the process of getting quotes from tree removal services, I was meeting providers who weren’t local and therefore I couldn't get local references - and - being inexperienced- it was hard to gauge who would do a great job and what was reasonable pricing.
As I saw the tree removal and clean up in action and got to know the team of Dale, Brock, Simon, and the crane operator, I was so happy to have chosen Hurri-Crane Tree Removal!
I appreciated the team's willingness to answer (all!) my questions, their attention to detail, the immense care with which everyone addressed the issues, the communication between team members, and the clear respect the team has for the trees and for preserving as much of the natural habitat as possible.
I couldn't be there for the final day of cleanup as I had a business trip but departed knowing everything was in good hands.
These guys really know how to remove a dangerous crippled tree from on top of my house. Gently and delicately cut and lifted simultaneously, and my truck buried under the crushed garage miraculously escaped without a scratch!
